  • NVS (Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti): CTET required for teaching posts
  • Army Public Schools: CTET-qualified candidates preferred
  • Central Government Schools: All central schools across India require CTET
  • State Government Schools: Many states accept CTET score for state-level teacher recruitment
  • Private Schools: Several reputed private institutions also consider CTET as a qualification benchmark

CTET September 2026 – Preparation Tips

With the exam on 06 September 2026, you have nearly 4 months to prepare. Here’s how to make the most of it:

  • Child Development & Pedagogy is the key: This section appears in both Paper I and II and carries 30 marks. Focus on theories of child development (Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg), learning styles, and inclusive education
  • Language sections: Pick languages you are strongest in for Language I and II. Practice comprehension passages and grammar regularly
  • No negative marking: Attempt all 150 questions — never leave any blank. Even a guess is worth trying
  • Solve Previous Year Papers: CTET has been conducted since 2011. Solve at least last 5 years’ papers to understand question patterns and difficulty level
  • NCERT Books: Majority of CTET content is based on NCERT textbooks of Classes I–VIII. Revise them thoroughly
  • Mock Tests: Attempt at least 2 full mock tests per week. Time management is crucial in 150 minutes
  • Target 120+: Aiming for 120+ out of 150 gives a strong score for competitive teacher recruitment even beyond just qualifying
